Nonceptual Art Meme 1: Brexicide
Swansea News Network introduces the first of Jeremy Gluck’s meme artwork posts .
The SS (Sinking Ship) Polly Pot is listing. Life jackets and life rafts aplenty on the DUP tugboat as the Khmer Bleu swim toward it with deceptively sunny determination, really soaked in sullen resignation, their colours fastened to the mast of a leader (sic[k]) whose titanic complex messiah issues threaten to rise the tide once again and swamp them all terminally. As in some comical yet malign pantomime, the EU – knives sharpened to gut our Prime Monstrosity’s cherished but now charnel plans – crows with understandable bemusement, “We’re behind vous!” This ain’t rock’n’roll, this is brexicide. Next stop? Brexin: De facto rescinding of Brexit, but not before enormous amounts of time, energy and especially money has been wasted. We’re not just through the looking glass on this one, people. We’re through the looking glass, people…and are through that one, too?

Jeremy Gluck primarily focuses on capturing a snapshot of human consciousness through the utilisation of digital meme.He seeks to explore the traditional hierarchy of how art is perceived. His most recent work reflects the powerful dichotomy, which exists between the narcissism of the digital age and the need for a stark commentary on the post-millennial landscape.Through the utilisation of a raw typography and a monochromatic palette, Gluck invites the audience to consume less and engage more, therefore negating the idea of art having a literal presence.
